Shanghai terrace is amazing. One of the most favorite restaurants of all time.Relative to Chinese food, it's fantastic. Very upscale, but tasty in a way that you'll appreciate. The prices of the food are in the upper tier, but the service they provide demands this. You'll never be so well taken care of by staff than at this place. Dim sum is affordable for casual appetizers. The is an outside terrace open in the summer. This sits right beside the magnificent mile. You can walk from the restaurant area toward the street and look out upon the magnificent mile if you wish. Really amazing rooftop dining area, one of the best I've ever been to. In the winter, the terrace becomes a rooftop ice skating rink. Great for the kids.If you come here, you'll love it.

The food was great, especially the desserts. The plastic chopsticks felt slightly slippery in the hands, but not unmanageable. The dessert was the highlight for me.

Food was excellent. While shareable it tends to run on the small size of shareable. We were a group of 5 and spent a majority of our trip over ordering because the portion size was bigger than anticipated and then at Shanghai Terrace we finally got the smaller portion sizes.

Questions & Answers

Hotel has vallet and it's extremely expensive so I suggest you Park elsewhere

Yes they are

Dress can be casual, but dressing nicely would fit the atmosphere. When I was there most of the patrons were wearing business clothes, but it was a hot day and some people were out on the patio wearing shorts, so i don't think anything is strictly off-limits.

It's a full service hotel and restaurant so I'm sure they would arrange anything you asked for, but no it's not part of their ordinary service. If you were to "order out" it would likely come by Uber Eats or Grub Hub, and it would probably cost quite a bit. Did you look at their prices? It's not carry out Chinese.

At a place like this I doubt they would have a pre-printed plastic debit type gift card, but it's in a top notch hotel, so i can't imagine they wouldn't have a way to accommodate you. I bet they'd be glad to put money on account for you at the restaurant. They're very customer service oriented.
